The heroes in a half-shell leap from the depths of the sewers and onto PlayStation 2 - are you ready to take on the evil Shredder and his Foot Clan?
Already the stars of a smash-hit animated series, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back to tear up our TV screens once again, this time in a turtal... sorry, totally terrific, action-packed beat 'em up from Konami. You and a crime-fighting partner can choose from Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello or Raphael and use the martial arts skills taught to them by master Splinter to defend the streets from villainous walking tin can Shredder and his fiercely loyal acolytes the Foot Clan.
Whether you're wielding a bo, sais, katanas or nunchaku, you'll have access to a wide array of strikes, kicks and throws that can be chained to devastating effect in one fluid combination attack. As you progress, you'll also come across secret items that open up brand new combat manoeuvres and other hidden features.
It'll all come in useful when you're pitted against the armies of Foot Soldiers and gigantic bosses that populate the six hazard-saturated stages of TMNT's Story mode, including a multi-faced Nano Machine and a giant Mouser from the labs of Baxter Stockman. Will Turtle Power be on your side?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' cel-shaded graphics will be instantly familiar to fans of the show - the amphibious foursome, their outrageous enemies and the vividly colourful world they occupy has never been recreated with such authenticity before. In addition, all of your attacks are accompanied by visual sound effects ('Bash!', 'Ba-Dooom!', etc.) to enhance the feel of interacting with a comic book or cartoon.
The game's faithfulness to the show extends to the use of all the original talent for the character's voices, as well as the inclusion of all the major characters from show, such as April O'Neil, Splinter and Baxter Stockman.
Aside from the main Story mode, you can challenge the computer or a human rival to a one-on-one duel in VS mode, which offers you the opportunity to take control of supporting heroes like Casey Jones, or even villains such as the menacing Shredder himself.
- Defeat the Foot Clan alone or with a friend as any of the four Turtles
- Play as hero or villain in two-player VS mode
- 35 levels spread across six stages of action
- Cel-shaded visuals recreate the style of the animated series
