Charlie Timmins has walked away with the winning title at the PlayStation King of the Mountain 2009 event held at Perisher.
Charlie picked up a cool cash prize for his performance at the event held on 14th September, presented by co-sponsors Quiksilver and Coca Cola.
The event was staged in two disciplines. Starting in the PlayStation Slopestyle on Front Valley some of Australia's best young freeride skiers twisted, turned and literally flew through the air. They then headed for Kamikaze, a double black diamond run located in Blue Cow, where they took on a gruelling obstacle course.
Congratulations to all the contestants; especially to Charlie, Jono Lipsker in second place and Jordan Houghton in third. Special mention goes to Chris Grant for the trick of the day with his epic double backflip and Cameron Waddell, the youngest competitor at nine years of age.
It was an awesome display of athleticism and showmanship, and we can't wait for next year's King of the Mountain, which is set to be bigger and better!
Check out a video wrapup of the event.
