As sharp as a ninja's sword

Presentation

As sharp as a ninja's sword

A dark and sinister world awaits you in NINJA GAIDEN 3 on PlayStation 3. It's a land which threatens to consume the unwary and destroy the innocent. This is the landscape that the game's hero, Ryu Hayabusa, is part of - and the game draws you into his gruesome adventure with a spectacular introduction of unforgettable action.

As you travel with Ryu across locations such as London and the Rub' al Khali desert, you're treated to luscious environments that make you feel like you're right in the thick of the action. Whether it's dashing through the treacherous sands or leaping off the top of Big Ben, your detailed surroundings are part of the intense encounters Ryu is thrown into. Everything looks sharp, crisp and convincing.

Not to be shown up by his surroundings, Ryu himself is a sight to behold. Impressively animated, this ninja moves with a deadly balletic grace. Shadows blur in his wake and the dynamic camera angles and slow motion close-ups only help heighten the spectacle.

Gameplay

Steel yourself

The katana is an elegant and deadly weapon - and it's yours to master in NINJA GAIDEN 3 on PlayStation 3. From the very start of the game you witness what Dragon Warrior Ryu Hayabusa can do as he hacks down a giant mystical deity. Following that you battle your way through countless gun and blade wielding enemies intent on putting Ryu to rest.

Forced to confront everything from super soldiers and spider tanks to mysterious masked fiends and dinosaurs, your task as Ryu is not an easy one. However, the experienced ninja has a trick or two up his sleeve. A variety of weapons, such as a powerful bow with explosive arrows and the legendary Dragon Sword, can be used to dispatch even the toughest of foes. And no ninja would be worth his salt without an impressive array of leaps, wall jumps and brutal combos.

Should the going get too tough, Ryu has the ability to unleash a devastating and frightening Ninpo attack once his Ki meter has filled up. The effect wipes out most of the enemies in the area, although be warned - it takes time to build your Ki back up again.
Want to get even closer to the action? Then grab a PlayStation Move motion controller and slice your way through anyone standing in your way. The motion controller grants you a great feeling of empowerment as each of your arm movements translate into a defence demolishing attack.

Whichever control method you use in NINJA GAIDEN 3, you're in for a challenging and exciting experience. Ryu's fights, especially the boss battles, require sharp reflexes and skilful timing, so stick with it. Master his techniques and you'll become the most stylish and deadly ninja in your household.

Cutting edge action

Multiplayer

Cutting edge action

NINJA GAIDEN 3 isn't just about breathtaking set pieces in single player mode. An action-packed online multiplayer adventure via PlayStation Network is also yours to enjoy in Shadows of the World mode. A partner can join you in Ninja Trials as both of you co-operatively tackle tough team missions and objectives. It's the ideal way to master your techniques and learn from each other to progress in the challenging single player story.

And if you want to get a little more competitive, the Clan Battle deathmatch mode lets up to eight players go head-to-head in two teams to reign supreme. Adding spice to this conflict is a bonus granting Shadow Contract, which is an objective only known to you. This can range from taking down an opponent without being seen to eliminating a rival ninja who just killed you.

With the ability to customise your unique warrior, you have everything you need to become the best ninja in the world. Grab your sword and start skulking in the shadows.
