Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 lets you experience golfing glory through the eyes of one of the sport's all-time greats. If you're a golf fan looking to recreate the thrill of the fairway, the game is a stunningly lifelike answer to your prayers – and that's not all. Chances are that at some point you've wondered how it feels to rise from golf's young gun to its grand master... well, wonder no more. The game's ingenious Legacy Mode lets you step into the shoes of Woods himself and relive his legendary career one triumph at a time.

Playing as the young Tiger is the perfect way to get to grips with the new swing mechanic that makes Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 so realistic – and besides, who wouldn't enjoy a round or two as a prodigiously gifted toddler? Woods is not the only golfer at your disposal either. In Career Mode you can take your pick from 22 veteran club-swingers, including 2011 US Open champion Rory McIlroy and England's Ross Fisher.

All the action takes place at some of the planet's most famous golf courses, including Royal Birkdale and the pristine Valhalla Golf Club, and you can pitch and putt your way to victory using either the PlayStation Move motion controller or a wireless controller. It's all about giving you the freedom to win your way, and it makes for a deeply satisfying experience.

The new shot setup lets you plan every aspect of your game – from your stance to the force of your swing – in three dimensions, allowing you to perform any real life shot with incredible precision and subtlety. The possibilities are infinite – and the feeling of freedom and control that the new mechanic affords is about as close to the course as you can get without pulling on your plus fours and teeing off yourself.

If you want to chat or compete with your buddies via PlayStation Network, you will be pleased to know that you can start your own Country Club, the perfect place to hook up and plan a round or two. Every time you play, you and your fellow Country Club members will earn status points and coins that can be used to access a host of special downloadable content, including extra courses and shot boosts.

Country Clubs are great fun, and a seriously cool way to organise head-to-heads with your mates while getting you closer to free downloadable goodies. It's like getting paid to play golf: now you know how the pros feel.
