PLAYSTATION®Network

The next-generation of 'always on' connectivity with PLAYSTATION®Network - including free* online gaming and messaging with friends, access to exclusive content in the PLAYSTATION®Store and web browsing.

In order to access the PLAYSTATION®Network, you will need to first set up your PS3 internet connection.

Once your PLAYSTATION®3 is connected to a broadband Internet connection, access to PLAYSTATION®Network is immediately available for FREE* - no purchase or subscription required.

For your free PLAYSTATION®Network account, select  (Sign Up) under  (Friends) on the home menu, and follow the on-screen instructions. You will then have access to all of the below features of the PLAYSTATION®Network.

Online Gaming >>
With PLAYSTATION®Network, you create a globally unique Online ID to engage in online multi-player games. Experience a whole new generation of gaming, with PLAYSTATION®3 games that support up to 40 simultaneous players online.

PLAYSTATION®Store >>
Enrich your entertainment experience with an ever-expanding library of free and premium exclusive content from the PLAYSTATION®Store. Enjoy a rich and unique selection of downloadable games, from classics to never before seen titles designed specifically for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

You can also enhance your disc-based games with game add-ons, such as new levels, maps or weapons. PS one® games can be downloaded directly to your PLAYSTATION®3 and then transferred to be played on your PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.

Friends and Messaging >>
Use your unique Online ID to stay connected with your PLAYSTATION®Network friends. Talk with others during game play, say hello anytime you're online, or have a video chat with an EyeToy® USB Camera and headset (each sold separately).

PLAYSTATION®3 System Software Updates >>
It's easy and free to keep your PLAYSTATION®3 system software up-to-date.
