Parkour, penguins and proton packs, it's all coming your way on PlayStation®3.

A celebration of all things PlayStation, PlayStation Day was packed with some of the most exciting upcoming games for PlayStation 3. Read on for the lowdown on the titles you could be playing later this year...

Mirror's Edge

One of the most exciting titles on display at PlayStation Day, Mirror's Edge is set in a future where the transfer of information is closely guarded by a sinister, big brother-style government. Those who want to exchange messages away from prying eyes use people known as Runners, highly agile and athletic free-runners who jump, run and swing their way across the city's gleaming rooftops. You play Faith, a Runner who has stumbled across a vast conspiracy and now must use every free-running trick at her disposal to survive and make the truth known to the world.

Played entirely from a first-person perspective, Mirror's Edge is unique in that it gives you a real sense of your character's body. You can see your legs and arms, and hear yourself breathing, giving a sense of weight and physicality to Faith. Bringing this first-person perspective to free-flowing parkour gameplay promises to deliver an amazingly cinematic and energetic action game, and Mirror's Edge is definitely one you'll want to keep a close eye on in the upcoming months.

LEGO Batman: The Videogame

There's something to be said about combining one of the world's most iconic superheroes with one of the world's most recognisable brands - and after the massive success of LEGO Star Wars it was only a matter of time before Warner Bros. and DC swooped out of the shadows to build some colourful brick bridges with LEGO and created what could be the best Batman game to date... not to mention one of the funniest.

With Gotham City recreated in a way you've never seen before, the Warner Bros. Interactive game brings the legendary crime fighter (erm, and Robin) under your control as our heroes use all manner of gadgets and vehicles to help track down criminals such as Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Penguin. With a co-op mode and the unlockable option to play levels as the villains, LEGO Batman: The Videogame has all the ingredients to knock your block well and truly off - in the best way possible, of course.

Ghostbusters

If there's something strange in your neighbourhood, who ya gonna call? The Ghostbusters, of course, who are now back out of retirement thanks to PS3. This isn't your standard movie tie-in game either. Movie creators Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis have been involved from the very beginning, writing the story and the script, and the four main cast members have lent their voices and likenesses to the game, including the elusive Bill Murray.

First impressions of the game are extremely favourable. It looks great, perfectly evoking the feel of the classic movie, and the ghost capturing gameplay is already feeling intuitive and fun, resembling a fishing game in the way you struggle with ghosts caught in your proton beam. An appearance by the Stay Puft marshmallow man is the icing on the ectoplasmic cake for a game that is sure to delight fans around the world later this year.

Expect more news on these titles and many more coming soon on au.playstation.com, and be sure to check out the rest of the PlayStation Day coverage including videos and screenshots of all the hottest upcoming games direct from the event itself.
