Have a PlayStation football party

PlayStation®3

Celebrate the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa from start to finish with PlayStation.

Prematch

Preparation is essential during your party, whether it's buying the right nibbles for your guests, or choosing the size of that new TV you bought to watch the games on. One essential part of your preparation should be PlayTV. Make sure you're on the right channel and hit record, so you can rewind any questionable refereeing decisions or simply replay some cracking goals once the match is over.

Warm-up

While your team begins to stretch its legs and get mentally prepared on the pitch, you should probably do the same for good measure. Not quite as strenuous but still as exciting, a couple of games of EA SPORTS 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on PlayStation 3 or PSP is enough to get anyone is the mood for some live football, especially when it's going to be as exciting as this year's tournament. You could even play as the teams that are about to play in the real game, and predict the scores through your own performance.

On PS3, this won't affect PlayTV recording the match, it will simply carry on in the background to ensure you won't miss a minute of the game.

Kick-off

Make sure all of your mates are round the big screen and put the match on PlayTV. Don't forget you can pause or rewind at any time if you need to. Now get ready to cheer on your team.

Half-time

With only 15 precious minutes before the second half, this is the perfect time for you to take a little break, along with your team's players. Why not try your hand at the World Football Quiz from Buzz! on PlayStation Store and brush up on your football knowledge with friends in the middle of the excitement.

You could also visit mybuzzquiz.com and have a go at some of the football quizzes created by the PlayStation community.

Second-half

Amid all of the excitement, remember that your party does not stop when the referee blows the final whistle. Make sure you've got your SingStar mics so that the festivities that can continue long after the match is over.

Full time

Hopefully there will be something to celebrate as the final whistle goes, and SingStar has got that covered. Their new downloadable SongPack, Football Anthems, features classic football songs for you to sing along to, such as Collapsed Lung's Eat My Goal and Three Lions by The Lightning Seeds.

Celebrations

It's time to make some room for your guests to have a dance and get your VidZone playlist set up. World Cup Anthems features football songs from different years, artists and countries and couldn't be more appropriate for the occasion. Status Quo's 1977 hit Rocking All Over The World is on there, along with All Together Now by The Farm and Eminem's Loose Yourself. The playlist will be available throughout the tournament and features over 30 classic football tracks.

Make sure you enjoy the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa with PlayStation.
