PlayTV™ is a device that allows you to 'watch, pause and record' free-to-air digital television using your PlayStation®3 console. It's the easiest way to access high definition free-to-air TV!

PlayTV provides the sort of features you'll only find on top of the range PVRs, such as:

  • Two High Definition TV tuners: both able to watch, pause and record TV in High Definition (record one program while watching another).
  • Electronic Program Guide: an incredibly user-friendly, seven-day interface, that provides the navigation for programming the PVR features of PlayTV.
  • Compatibility: PlayTV operates on the widely available Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial (DVB-T) format.
  • Easy to use: Intuitive controls, single button help features, tutorial videos and simple navigation make PlayTV a joy to use.
  • Auto detect display setting: PlayTV will automatically determine the correct settings for Standard Definition or High Definition displays.
  • Portable viewing with PSP: Remote Play PSP connectivity allows you to set recordings & watch live TV remotely via a WiFi connection.
  • It's future-proof: PlayTV will evolve with time – with new features added via PlayStation Network.

OK, so you're ready to enter the world of PlayTV. Let's talk you through it step by step.

Make sure that you have all of the following:-

      1 x PlayStation 3 console
1 x PlayTV Tuner (sold seperately)
      1 x Antenna connection
      1 x RF aerial cable
      1 x USB cable
      1 x composite / component / HDMI video cable

Plug your TV aerial into your Play TV Tuner box using a standard RF cable.

Connect your PlayTV tuner box to your PS3 Console (into one of the available USB slots on the PS3) using a standard USB cable.

Connect your PS3 console into your TV (if it isn't already connected) using a video cable (whatever video connection your TV supports - composite, component, or HDMI).

Insert the PlayTV installation disc into your PS3, and follow the on screen instructions.

(Note: the software installation program will scan and locate all of the available free to air channels in your particular location. Furthermore, you can manually adjust your aerial connection and re-scan to locate all of the free to air channels as many times as you like, until you are satisfied with all of the channel settings and general reception.)

Presto! You are now ready to watch, pause, and record free to air digital television.
