Blast Core

Ready for a whistle-stop tour of central New Marais? Then make sure you keep up with CIA agent Lucy Kuo in this first mission – a sprint through Militia-infested streets to rescue your old friend Dr Wolfe. The scientist is under attack from armed heavies and you must reach him quickly to save both the man and his research into your amazing electrical powers.

That's easier said than done, however. You must dodge traffic, clamber over rickety buildings and deal with rocket-toting Militiamen, all while trying not to lose sight of Kuo. Use your climbing skills to give yourself a height advantage, then rain down a volley of volts on the mob to rescue Dr Wolfe.

Crossfire

The view from the top of St Ignatius' church is truly awe-inspiring – and in the Crossfire side mission, it's essential to making sense of the chaos unfolding in the streets below.

Carnage caused by a pitched battle between the Militia and hideously deformed swamp creatures named the Corrupted threatens nearby civilians. You must snuff out this skirmish before too many innocent people are killed.

Find a high vantage point overlooking the town square and press the L1 button together with the Triangle button to unleash missiles of pure energy. Steady aiming will do the trick – and it will give you valuable insight into the mutant enemies awaiting you in the next mission.

The Sacrifice

The seedy slums of Ascension Parish are your next port of call, as you follow a girl's screams to find her tied up and about to become a sacrificial offering. After freeing her, you must escort her to safety, resisting the frenzied attacks of the Ravagers, the human-like foot soldiers of the Corrupted.

Your Amp, a highly charged melee weapon, is perfect for swatting your pursuers away, and, once the coast is clear, the girl's father whisks her away. There's one last obstacle, however: the Devourer has come looking for its sacrifice, setting the scene for a titanic showdown with this enormous, hungry swamp monster.  

Malpractice

Rounding off the inFamous 2 demo in fine style is a citywide search for stolen medical supplies. It's a chance to show off the full range of your powers – including the devastating Ionic Vortex, an electrical tornado which rips through the streets and anything in its path.

As you move between four hot spots in this mission, look out for some sly humour from developer Sucker Punch at the Hush Club, whose billboard advertises performances by Little Big Unit, Assassin's Need and Latch It and Skank, in reference to some classic PlayStation games.
