SingStar, the ultimate competitive singing game for PS3™, is now available as a free download straight from the PS3 system's XMB™ (XrossMediaBar).
Yes, that's right - no more need to slot in a disc to get that party started. Simply install SingStar from the XMB and you'll be able to start singing in no time, share your performances with the community and visit the SingStore to get hold of more great tracks for your collection.
If you're a newbie to SingStar, we've made it easier for you to jump straight into it by allowing you to play the game with your PlayStation®Eye camera (remember, it has a built-in mic!). We've spent many an afternoon testing this in the office and are pretty pleased with it so please let us know what you think! This will only work for single player mode, so if you're gearing up for a serious SingStar battle, you'll obviously still need to plug in some mics.
To also help get you started, there are short demo songs available for you to download and try out if you've never bought a song from the SingStore before.
And it doesn't stop there! We've also improved the SingStar experience for existing veterans. One of the features which will get current Aussie SingStar users really excited is faster download times for SingStore tracks, allowing you to quickly build your SingStar collection while you're belting out a song (or two... or three...).
