The latest game announcements for the next generation PlayStation.
As ever, the summer season is proving a busy one for new game announcements. Here are some of the latest.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Rockstar has more than GTA IV up its sleeve. The publisher has announced that the fourth game in its popular street racing series is PS3-bound, and set in (you've guessed it) Los Angeles. Details are scarce, but fans should start looking forward to early 2008 now.
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
What's next from Starbreeze Studios, the Swedish developer currently applying the finishing touches to The Darkness? Why, it's a next generation reinvention of its Chronicles of Riddick game, originally released in 2004.
Featuring a new multiplayer mode and extra single player content, the whole game has been polished with cutting edge visuals for its PlayStation debut.
Haze
Ubisoft is publishing Haze, the latest first person shooter from Free Radical Design. Scheduled for launch towards the end of 2007, Haze is set in 2048, when governments have outsourced their military operations to private corporations.
Single player and multiplayer options are set to be as comprehensive as you'd expect from the team responsible for the TimeSplitters series, with four player co-op being a particular draw.
TimeShift
Also set to launch on PS3 is TimeShift - a first person shooter where the main character can slow, stop and reverse the flow of time at will. Anyone familiar with the Prince of Persia series will know how compelling this is, and controlling time within a first person environment sounds particularly intriguing. Once again, multiplayer options are set to feature prominently, making for some interesting online skirmishes.
