Find out more about new downloadable games for PlayStation 3 showcased at Games Convention in Leipzig.

PlayStation Network, the place to go for downloadable PS3 content, free online gaming, chat, video and playable demos, is gearing up with a huge range of downloadable titles – many with online play. Here's a selection of some of the top titles to look out for in the coming months.

Snakeball

It's the return of disco as you've never seen it before; however, this time, the essential accessory on the floor is a giant, hovering snake. Snap up coloured balls to score points while other Snakeballers attempt to knock you off top spot with blasts from their weapons or flicks from their multicoloured tails. There are three game modes - including multiplayer for up to eight Snakeballers – and you can also map your own face onto a rider with the next generation PlayStation Eye USB camera.

Feel Ski

Feel Ski brings the unforgettable rush of Alpine skiing to PS3 with fully motion-sensitive, SIXAXIS Wireless Controller play. Personalise your character and take part in adrenaline-fuelled ski races or time battles using motion-sensitive controls to speed up, jump and change direction. It's easy to learn but tough to master and, with split-screen two player battles and online competitions, there's plenty to keep you heading back up to the top of the piste. Strap those skis on and feel at one with the mountain!

High Velocity Bowling

Hit the alley with this super-realistic ten-pin bowling title. With trick shots, unlockable characters, fully motion-sensitive SIXAXIS Wireless Controller play and the most realistic bowling physics ever, High Velocity Bowling is set to strike your PS3 later this year as an exclusive download from PlayStation Network, so get ready to hit the lanes and start knocking down those pins.

LocoRoco Cocoreccho

LocoRoco is back – can you guide the colourful creatures back to safety in this interactive screensaver? Use the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller's tilt function to manipulate the scenery whilst moving your butterfly around the screen to locate the LocoRoco. Once you've woken them up, they'll follow your every move - just don't lead them towards the nasty Moja who'll eat them for lunch. Win the love of the LocoRoco and a place on the online ranking boards – only on PlayStation Network.

Pain

It's painful all right – this PS3 title involves loading characters into a giant catapult, flinging them into the distance and watching the chaos unfold. Nothing is safe from destruction, including bowled-over pedestrians, broken windows and crumpled scenery. No pain, no gain; it's not nice – but it's the ultimate in stress relief - and it's only on PlayStation Network.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Available as a download and on Blu-ray Disc, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for PS3 will deliver a truly remarkable High Definition driving experience and change the racing genre forever. The real driving simulator series that's sold over 50 million units is back in High Definition with more than 40 cars, five tracks, new driving physics and AI, plus online racing for up to 16 drivers.

Warhawk

Available as a download and on Blu-ray Disc, Warhawk is the online realm of multiplayer battle in which only the best teams of soldiers can hope to carry the day. Exclusively multiplayer and playable online via PlayStation Network or offline via split-screen mode and LAN, Warhawk pits teams of players from across the world against one another in a melee of armed combat on foot, in vehicles and in the air. Attacks will come from all angles, you won't rest for a second. In Warhawk, you're always somebody's prey.

WipEout HD

The anti-gravity combat racer is set to blast into High Definition with 1080p visuals running at a breathtaking 60- frames-per-second. WipEout HD features a selection of the best tracks taken from previous versions of the series, meticulously crafted and fully reworked to showcase the power of PS3. Using the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller, and available exclusively for download from PlayStation Store, WipEout HD represents the future of the iconic anti-gravity racing series and is set to launch in late 2007.

The Trials of Topoq

You'll need quick reflexes to manoeuvre a rolling ball down the treacherous towers of the city of Topoq – towers with your very own image mapped onto them thanks to PlayStation Eye. Every movement you make alters the towers and sends your ball hurtling in a new direction - can you use your body to see the ball safely to the end of all 30 courses? Be careful, though, as one false move will send your ball plummeting over the edge and into oblivion.

Operation Creature Feature

You might not find Blurbs attractive, but they're attracted to you. These tiny, three-dimensional creatures flock to your every movement as registered by PlayStation Eye – it's up to you to use this phenomenon to lead them to safety through five themed levels in which they'll face hazards such as conveyor belts, spikes, ice jets and lava. Each level contains several stages, so you'd better keep moving...

Aqua Vita

What better way to chill than with Aqua Vita, the PS3 title that turns your TV into a tranquil, lifelike and interactive aquarium? Just stand in front of it and the fish will interact with you via the PlayStation Eye camera – ripple the tank with a wave of your hand, feed the fish and lure them towards you by making subtle motions in front of the camera – just be careful not to scare them off...

Keep checking back on au.playstation.com for more on these great titles available on PlayStation Network. In the meantime, visit PlayStation Network to download High Definition trailers for these titles.
