Double trouble times two

Story

Double trouble times two

In space, no one can hear you scheme - which is exactly what Vendra and Neftin Prog have been counting on. The troublesome twins are the dastardly villains of Ratchet & Clank: NEXUS and only two courageous intergalactic heroes can stop them.

Unfortunately for the charismatic Lombax Ratchet and his robotic pal Clank, their mission starts off in the worst possible way. While escorting a captured Vendra to the Vartax Detention Centre, they are caught off guard by a spectacular jailbreak, led by Neftin. The hulking ape and his Thugs-4-Less posse free Vendra, leaving Ratchet and his little buddy lost in the mysterious and dangerous Zarkov sector.

Dare you blast off into this pulse-pounding quest to stop the twins and their perilous plot? Be warned - the cold and emptiness of space pales in comparison to Vendra's cold and empty heart...

Space is dangerous again

Presentation

Space is dangerous again

When it comes to slick action, colourful adventure and a great sense of humour, few games can match the memorable escapades of a certain Lombax mechanic and his tiny robot friend. And Ratchet & Clank: NEXUS is their most impressive journey yet, packing the visual punch of a high quality 3D cartoon.

Each planet you explore is packed with tons of little details which breathe life into the game's entertaining sci-fi setting. Luscious alien vegetation, neon glowing portals and screen-shaking explosions join the more discreet yet equally impressive elements such as watching Ratchet's brown fur ripple in the wind. It's enough to make you feel like you've been transported to a faraway galaxy where anything is possible.

Aiding the well written comedy and drama is the wonderfully energetic voice acting, which ranges from the sly remarks of your talkative foes to the interesting audio journals you discover during the early part of the story. Ratchet & Clank: NEXUS has all the right tools to keep you smiling and engaged as you blast through a riotous space caper.

Strike back with the galaxy's greatest heroes

Gameplay

Strike back with the galaxy's greatest heroes

Ratchet & Clank: NEXUS on PS3 is packed full of intergalactic mischief to keep you on your toes when you're not jet packing through exotic alien skies or travelling across the cosmos. Whether you're solving tricky puzzles or hunting for hidden objects, there's plenty to tickle your brain cells.

Imaginative gadgets have always shone in the Ratchet & Clank series and the gizmos in NEXUS are brighter than an exploding sun. You can unleash the likes of the Nightmare Box which summons ghouls to scare off enemies, and the cheerfully destructive Mr Zurkon who takes pleasure in eliminating anything which stands in your way. Combined with Ratchet's trusty omniwrench and other great weapons, you'll leave the Prog twins' thugs seeing stars.

Let's not forget the gravity of Ratchet and Clank's situation, either. With tools such as the Grav-Tether and abilities like the Grav-Leap, you'll be flipped upside down and all around on your quest. Clank gets a piece of the action too in the brilliantly creative 2D platform Netherverse levels, where you can manipulate gravity with the right stick to flip and spin through deadly mazes.

Can you stop the dark plans of the nefarious Prog twins? Millions of lives are in your hands - so better grab your wireless controller, courageous space soldier...
