Be part of the revolution with MUBI on PS3™

PlayStation®3

Host your own premiere as MUBI on PS3™ screens Revolución at the same time as cinemas around the world.

Sony Computer Entertainment Australia invites you to take your own seat at the ground-breaking premiere of Revolución, the new masterpiece that was an official selection of this year's Berlin, New York and Cannes film festivals.

In a revolutionary first, the film will globally premiere simultaneously on 20th November 2010 in cinemas, and for free in the home thanks to MUBI, the independent and art house film streaming service on PlayStation®3.

Bringing together ten filmmakers, including Gael García Bernal, Amat Escalante, Gerardo Naranjo, Fernando Eimbcke and Carlos Reygadas, Revolución celebrates the centenary of the 1910 Mexican uprising with a compilation of ten short tales told by the visionary new directors at the forefront of contemporary Mexican cinema.

Gael García Bernal's tale Lucio takes an insightful look at a group of school children who become enlightened by an older peer about the notion of rebellion during a school project. In a darker story of despair and violence, El Cura Nicolas Colagado, by Amat Escalanate, is a disturbing account of a boy, a girl and their ill fated donkey who rescues a priest found hanging from a tree in the middle of the desert. In La Bienvendia, director Fernando Eimbcke portrays a poor rural tuba player struggling to find time to practice for an important ceremony to welcome a dignitary who never arrives. Carlos Reygadas' Este Es Mi Reino is perhaps the most extreme, yet unique, film in Revolución. Shot in a documentary style, the film starts off with an innocent gathering, and then gathers momentum with a party, fuelled by drink, rapidly descending into anarchy.

Revolución is a fascinating and unique interpretation of the cultural significance held by the Mexcian Revlution, an event whose effects still resonate with the young minds of today. It is just one of the many great films in MUBI's outstanding catalogue of acclaimed independent, international and classic films from around the world available on TV screens via PS3.

MUBI is available to download in Australia from 4th November 2010.
