Find out which PSP software titles can be used with the adhocParty application.
Connect to PSP systems via your PS3 with this free software download from PlayStation Store.
Lots of PSP software titles feature Ad Hoc Mode, which allows two or more players – each with a copy of the same title – to play together or share content via a Wireless connection between their PSP systems.
The adhocParty application extends this mode in two key areas:
Players don't need to be in the same room as each other
You can connect your PSP system to another PSP system, using your PlayStation 3 system as a server to bridge the geographical divide.
This means that you can make the most of the Ad Hoc Mode functions in some of your favourite software titles even when none of your friends or fellow players are close by.
Simply connect your PSP system to a broadband Internet-enabled PlayStation 3 system via a Wireless network connection, then access adhocParty to find other players who want to play the same game as you.
adhocParty on PS3 acts like a communication platform
Players can create houses where they can chat, via voice and text, before, during and after playing together.
You can enjoy text or voice chat with other players via the virtual keyboard, a USB keyboard, a USB or Bluetooth Headset or the microphone of a PlayStation Eye camera. For more information on setting up a peripheral, please refer to the instruction manual supplied with the peripheral.
In lobbies and rooms, you will be represented on-screen by a cute avatar marked with your PlayStation Network Online ID. In addition to text and voice chat, you can also communicate via a series of on-screen avatar actions. Press and hold the Square button to display the avatar action controls, then use the left stick to perform an action.
