On the couch with Benji, Macca, Buddy and Flash

We caught up with footy players Benji Marshall, Jarrad "Macca" McVeigh, Lance "Buddy" Franklin and Michael "Flash" Gordon to talk all things PlayStation.

To coincide with the launch of AFL Challenge and Rugby League Challenge games exclusively on PSP, we spoke to Hawthorn's leading goal kicker and last year's Coleman Medallist Lance 'Buddy' Franklin, 2008 Sydney Swans Best and Fairest Jarrad McVeigh, Wests Tigers playmaker Benji Marshall and the NRL's most accurate goal kicker in 2009, Panther Michael Gordon, soon after they battled it out in the PlayStation AFL & NRL Kicking Challenge in Sydney on Wednesday, 3rd September 2009.

Benji Marshall

I'm definitely more of a sports gamer

You can't go past Tiger Woods
 
3. What version PlayStation do you play?
I have both a PS3 and PSP
 
4. How often do you play PlayStation?
I play PlayStation every day and PSP when I'm travelling interstate to matches
 
5. Who in your team thinks they are the PlayStation Champion?
That would have to be Robby Farah, he thinks he's the king!

Jarrad McVeigh

1. Are you a sports or action gamer?
Sports for sure
 
2. Do you have a favourite PlayStation game?
FIFA 09 is the best sports game
 
3. What version PlayStation do you play?
PlayStation 3 with the Blu-ray
 
4. How often do you play PlayStation? 
I play almost every night, and once a week all the Swanies boys get together for a FIFA competition - it becomes very competitive
 
5. Who in your team thinks they are the PlayStation Champion?
Jude Bolton thinks he is... but he has nothing on me

Michael Gordon

1. Are you a sports or action gamer?
Action all the way
 
2. Do you have a favourite PlayStation game?
Grand Theft Auto - I just love the freedom and the action the game provides
 
3. What version PlayStation do you play? 
I'm still playing the PlayStation 2 for now
 
4. How often do you play PlayStation?
I would say I play at least a couple of times per week
 
5. Who in your team thinks they are the PlayStation Champion? 
Most likely Junior Moors would think he is the best

Lance "Buddy" Franklin

1. Are you a sports or action gamer?
Sports
 
2. Do you have a favourite PlayStation game?
FIFA 09, I would have to say, would be my favourite game at the moment
 
3. What version PlayStation do you play?
PlayStation 3
 
4. How often do you play PlayStation?
I play PlayStation pretty much every day
 
5. Who in your team thinks they are the PlayStation Champion?
Jarryd Roughead would claim that title
