SCEE unveils Spider-Man and Simpsons Limited Edition PSP bundles and more details of the new PSP Slim & Lite.

At Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's press conference on August 22, 2007 at the Leipzig Games Convention, more details of the new model PSP were unveiled. Dubbed Slim & Lite in Europe, because of a 33% reduction in weight and 19% reduction in thickness, the new model will be available in three colours Ceramic White, Piano Black and Ice Silver. Slim & Lite will be available from September 5, 2007.

Exclusive to the SCEE territories will be two limited Edition PSP bundles - Spider-Man Red and Black and Simpsons Yellow. Available for a limited period of time these two bundles feature PSP systems in their respective colours, plus Activision's Spider-Man 3 game and Electronic Arts' The Simpsons Game.

"We are delighted to announce the arrival of the newly designed PSP to the SCEE region, whilst also providing something unique and special for our consumers," said David Reeves, President of SCEE. "With the addition of two limited edition colour bundles, inspired by the blockbuster Spider-Man and Simpsons Hollywood movies, together with the new TV-out port, which gives consumers the option to enjoy PSP content on the big screen, we are confident that this now brings a whole new dimension to the PSP entertainment experience."

As well as a reduction in weight and size, Slim & Lite boasts new features such as a video-out port, allowing you to view games and UMD videos on your home TV, additional internal memory to reduce the loading time of games, and the ability to recharge the system via a USB cable connected to either a PlayStation 3 or PC.

Combined with the range of voice chat, video chat and GPS navigation products available in the innovative new Go! portfolio, plus over 69 new game titles scheduled for release before Christmas in Europe, there has never been so much potential for entertainment and communication with PSP.
