Explore new realms with Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, Silent Hill Origins, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles on PSP.
Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
This PSP exclusive outing from LucasArts for the residents of a galaxy far, far away dispenses with the class system of previous titles and introduces a far more customisable character design system which enables you to create your own unique combatants.
Like those flip books where you can switch heads, torsos and legs, Renegade Squadron allows you to assemble a character from various parts.
Renegade Squadron is the tale of an elite unit of battle hardened veterans and scoundrels, hand picked by Han Solo, who conduct some of the toughest and most secretive missions for the Rebel Alliance.
Silent Hill Origins
Well worth the wait, Silent Hill Origins is the first title in this acclaimed series to appear on PSP. Following the story of truck driver, Travis Grady, who is stranded in the ill fated sleepy town of Silent Hill, Konami have expertly brought survival horror to the PSP system.
As expected the game is laden with atmosphere as the town transitions between vacant lots and buildings to a nightmare realm, filled with fear and populated by twisted, faceless inhabitants.
Isolation is the dominant feeling and this is greatly enhanced by the visual style, which layers an almost film like grain, including dust and scratches, over the action and cinematics.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Square Enix are bringing the Final Fantasy universe to PSP. The War of the Lions explores the world of Ivalice during a dark period of civil war, an epic backdrop for a tale that marries perfectly with the immensely popular gameplay of the Tactics series.
Firmly grounded in strategic, grid-based combat your party takes turns to manoeuvre, launch attacks and use abilities upon 3D battlefields. Over 400 abilities, spread across 22 different jobs and across classes which your characters can pursue, offer an incredible level of customisation when picking and advancing your party.
New for the Tactics series, Wireless multiplayer supports both competitive and co-operative play, and cameos of famous characters can be recruited, including Balthier from Final Fantasy XII and Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy makes its PSP debut October 2007.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Not content with simply rising from the grave, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood has been completely revamped by Konami for PSP.
Set in 1792, these new chronicles follow the exploits of Richter Belmont as he battles the Prince of Darkness. Wielding the legendary Vampire Hunter whip and aided by his loyal friend Maria, Richter strives to rescue his beloved Annette from the bloodsucker's fortress.
Alongside updated 3D graphics and revised character designs from renowned Castlevania artist Ayumi Kojima, The Dracula X Chronicles features new gameplay and a treat for fans - a perfect reproduction of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
