Sonic and rivals

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic has been called the "fastest hero alive". He believes in all things good and is a champion of the forest creatures. His actions and attitude have made him a legend. Sonic possesses many abilities and is the most well rounded character in the game.

Shadow the Hedgehog
Created in a lab, Shadow believes Sonic to be his rival in all aspects of his life. Unlike Sonic, however, Shadow's speed comes from his Hover Shoes, which allow him to glide just above the surface of the ground.

Knuckles the Echidna
Knuckles is the brawn of Sonic's crew. Not quite as fast as Sonic, his relative lack of speed is compensated for by great strength. He often uses this to his advantage by smashing new paths and throwing heavy objects around. Knuckles is easy to upset and can be goaded in to combat quite easily; some may see this as a weakness but Knuckle's rage can be an advantage.

Metal Sonic
Metal Sonic is a robotic version of Sonic the Hedgehog. He's looking forward to proving that he is the "real" hedgehog. He can absorb other character's moves and use them to his benefit.

Miles "Tails" Prower
Tails is Sonic's best friend and is a master mechanic with an incredibly high IQ; he excels at building robots and flying machines. He is shy with strangers, but is a loyal friend.

Espio the Chameleon
A speedy and powerful ninja-spy-detective. This cool, calm and collected chameleon is always the voice of reason and seriousness. He uses his reptilian tongue and camouflaging abilities, as well as his ability to hurl throwing stars, to defeat his enemies.

Rouge the Bat
Rouge is a sultry and self-obsessed treasure hunter and government spy. She uses her great strength and martial arts to get what she wants. She has a crush on Knuckles and flirts with him at any chance she is given.

Silver the Hedgehog
Silver is from the future. He has strong psychokinetic powers which he can use to manipulate physical objects and cloud the minds of his enemies. Silver is fiercely protective of the innocent and has a strong, almost naïve sense of justice. He is a loyal partner to Blaze the Cat.
