Find out how to quit a game without losing any of your progress.
To return to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) while playing a game, press the PS button. You will be asked for confirmation - select "Yes" and press the X button to end the game and display the Home Menu.
To pause a game and put the PSP system into Sleep Mode, slide the POWER/HOLD switch up briefly.
The game you are playing will be paused and the POWER indicator will turn off. To clear Sleep Mode, slide the POWER/HOLD switch up again briefly. The game will return to the screen that was displayed before entering Sleep Mode.
Note
- Do not put the PSP system into Sleep Mode while the Memory Stick Duo access indicator is on. This may cause loss or corruption of data.
- It is recommended that you save game data before entering Sleep Mode. If the Battery Pack runs out during Sleep Mode, the PSP system will not return to the screen that was displayed when Sleep Mode was activated.
- Ensure the POWER/HOLD switch is only pushed up briefly. If it is held in place for longer than two seconds, the PSP system will turn off, rather than enter Sleep Mode.
- Some software does not support Sleep Mode.
