Find your way around PSP-3000.
The following is a list of the primary function buttons which can be found on the front of the PSP system.

1. Directional buttons
As well as being used to navigate menus, these are used during gameplay and for accessing other media features.
2. Analog stick
Use this for smooth game play and for viewing images.
3. PS button
This button takes the user back to the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar).
4. Volume buttons
You can adjust the volume of your PSP at any time using these buttons.
5. Display button
Pressing the display button cycles through the four screen brightness settings. Note that the brightest setting may only be selected when PSP is plugged in using the AC Adaptor.
6. Sound button
While listening to audio through headphones, the tone may be cycled through five settings with the sound button. Holding the sound button down for a second mutes the sound altogether.
7. SELECT button
The SELECT button helps the user navigate in-game menus.
8. START button
The START button is used to start a game and pause the action during gameplay.
9. Action buttons
As well as performing different functions during gameplay, these iconic buttons are used to accept or decline choices when navigating the PSP menu. For example, the X button is often used to confirm a choice. Please refer to the PSP system Instruction Manual for further information.
