How to use the Internet with your PSP

PSP®

Connect your PSP to the Internet

Go online with your PSP to access PlayStation Store, surf the Internet and more.

In order to launch the browser, you will need to connect your PSP to a Wireless (WLAN) Network using Infrastructure Mode. Before you get started, you'll need the following:

  • A Wireless access point connected to a network with Internet service.
  • The SSID assigned to the access point. If you do not know the SSID or the SSID is not displayed, contact the person who set up or maintains the access point.
  • The encryption key for the access point. For information on the encryption key, contact the person who set up or maintains the access point.
  • Depending on the access point settings, you may need to enter the PSP system's MAC address to connect to the network. The system's MAC address can be checked under Settings > [System Settings] > [System Information].

Depending on the model of PSP system in use, you may have the option [Automatic] when using an access point that supports automatic set-up. If you follow the on-screen instructions, the necessary settings will be completed automatically. For information on access points that support automatic set-up, contact your local retailer.

For detailed instructions on how to go online with your PSP, visit the online user guide at manuals.playstation.net.

Note:

  • You can save up to 10 connections on a single PSP system.
  • Setting methods may vary depending on usage conditions.

Connection methods

[Connection Settings] is a setting under [Tools] > [Settings].

Auto-Select: The most recently used connection is selected automatically.
