Konami today announced it will release METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection for PlayStation®Vita this winter.

From the series' critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection updates two of the most popular METAL GEAR SOLID titles in true high definition.

The PlayStation Vita collection boasts enhanced versions of the acclaimed METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty and METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater titles, and both games enjoy graphical make-overs, trophies and bespoke controls systems designed to make the most of the PlayStation®Vita system's touchscreen capabilities. Similarly, the games enjoy a rebalanced user interface and make use of Kojima Productions' unique TRANSFARRING system for data sharing with the PlayStation®3 system.

"The PlayStation®Vita system will provide fans with an exciting new way to enjoy the METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection," said Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "We're confident that users will be pleased with the new innovations Kojima Productions have implemented with the new PlayStation®Vita iterations, offering a truly unique experience for this exciting new format."

METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection will be released for PS Vita this winter.
