The left Demon Arm will drop anything it's carrying when you move into the light and you won't be able to use either Demon Arm as long as you stay in it.</p> <p><img src="/media/_cv4SKQq/CMS-161/The_Darkness_II_first_look_11.bmp" alt="" /></p> <p><b>Heart Essence</b><br />The more powerful an enemy is, the more Essence points you'll get when you eat their heart. You may be tempted to dispatch the tough Brotherhood with more powerful attacks like Gun Channeling, Executions, or a well-placed Black Hole, but always be mindful of the fact that you may be robbing yourself of valuable Essence.</p> <p><b>Time to die</b><br />Executing enemies equals large amounts of Essence points, which can be used to purchase upgrades. Performing these takedowns doesn't leave any hearts behind, so you won't be able to heal Jackie. The best way around this is by purchasing the Health Execution upgrade, which allows you to gain a little health with every execution.</p> <p><b>Double trouble</b><br />You can swap which hand holds a dual wielded gun by pressing the down button on your wireless controller when you have two weapons in your grasp. I personally find this very useful because I'm used to holding the L1 button down to aim, and sometimes forget to keep pressing it when using a semi-automatic pistol in Jackie's left hand. By placing a fully automatic sub-machine gun, such as the Uzi, in Jackie's left hand I can use it effectively even if I just press and hold the L1 button.</p> <p><img src="/media/QeOq4JA_/CMS-161/DarknessII_E32011_QuadAttack.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p><b>Hold your fire</b><br />Ammo in <a href="/ps3/games/detail/item405722/The-Darkness-II/" target="_self">The Darkness II</a> is a precious resource and can be hard to come by at certain points in the game. Avoid wasting it by using Jackie's Demon Arms and other Darkness powers. Be sure to get in close to slash an enemy with one Demon Arm, or keep your distance and grab objects in the environment to hurl at them instead of wasting bullets. It's really important to remember that guns are only one of the many deadly weapons at your disposal.</p> <p><b>Master grabber</b><br />You can make weak mobsters vulnerable to being grabbed by first staggering them with an attempted grab. Once they're dazed, they're very easy to get hold of and take down. You can easily see when an enemy is vulnerable to that specific attack - their heart and vasculature will pulse with an unnatural glow. You can also make an enemy vulnerable to a grab by staggering them with bullets, or hitting them with a quick Demon Arm slash attack. Tougher enemies like the Brotherhood are not so easy to deal with - trying to get a hold of a member of the Brotherhood when he's not vulnerable only makes him angry.</p> <p><b>Secrets of the Brotherhood</b><br />Brotherhood members wearing heavy armour cannot be grabbed using Jackie's Demon Arms until their armour is destroyed. It's the same for Brotherhood enemies wielding shields - you can use the Demon Arms to snatch their shield, but only after the armour covering it has been destroyed.</p> <p>Grabbing the shield isn't the only way to dispatch this devious enemy's principle defence. You can use the Swarm attack to force him to drop it, or you can use Gun Channeling and the Heart of Darkness upgrade to shoot right through it. Once you have worn the shield down, you slash it with the Demon Arms to stagger him and then let rip with your firearms.</p> <p><img src="/media/U4ZdXGIF/CMS-161/The_Darkness_II_first_look_7.bmp" alt="" /></p> <p><b>Pole dancer</b><br />True Masters of The Darkness II never pick up poles when they are lying on the ground. Use an upward slash with one Demon Arm to knock the pole into the air, and then snatch it mid-air with the other. Your enemies will tremble before your pole-juggling awesomeness.</p> <p><b>Devilish demo tips</b><br />Picking up Relics earns 300 Essence points, and there are 2 that can be found in the Demo available to download for free from PlayStation Store. Here's a tip that allows you to access more Talents within the Talent Shrine.</p> <p>The first Relic is right outside the door after the Darkling gives you an Uzi. The second is in the Subway. I won't say where exactly, but it's before you get to the Talent Shrine on the Subway's lower level.</p> <p>If you avoid spending Essence at that first Talent Shrine, find both Relics, eat lots of hearts, and avoid gun kills, you'll be able to purchase the Gun Channeling or Swarm powers from the second Talent Shrine for maximum carnage. Nothing in his pockets but knives and lint."</b><br />Gotham City Impostors is designed for lots of customisation, not only for making your own Joker or Batman, but also in the way you play. For example, if you like to be speedy, choose a light body type. If you like to heal teammates, pick the Motivator megaphone which lets you shout encouraging words at your partners to increase their armour.</p> <p>There's no one way to play, so experiment to figure out what equipment and body types fit your style best.</p> <p><b>Holy bear trap, Batman!</b><br />One of my favourite tactics is leaving traps for enemies speeding around corners. In modes like Fumigation and Psych Warfare there are specific points on the map where players have to go to, so items like the bear trap and Trap-in-the-Box are ideal to use as you don't have to be anywhere near your foe to kill them.</p> <p><img src="/media/CI-H74Du/CMS-161/Screenshot096.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p>The glider is also very useful as you can get around the maps quickly, have a high vantage point to see where people are fighting and also for using the dive-bomb attack.</p> <p><b>"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"</b><br />If someone is really good with the glider, roller skates or grappling gun, then make use of the garden gnome which has a taser that stuns anyone who glides or grapples over it, leaving them vulnerable to attacks. The bear trap and Trap-in-the-Box - which is a proximity mine in the shape of a jack-in-the-box - are also very handy.</p> <p><img src="/media/hQ_2uL9d/CMS-161/Screenshot902.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p><b>The joker isn't the only card in your deck</b><br />Fun Facts are your ability perks in Gotham City Impostors, so pick cards that balance out your character. If you like a light body type and want to be a bit more resilient, choose the Horse Healthy Fun Fact to add more health to your character. Or you can select Leathery Skin which makes you more immune to melee damage like knife attacks.</p> <p><img src="/media/Se_2FPe9/CMS-161/Screenshot169.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p><b>"Riddle me this, Batman..."</b><br />You can unlock something cool and cosmetic when you get to a certain point in Gotham City Impostors, yet it's not part of your costume, not a weapon and it's not attached to you. It doesn't come to you quickly or easily, but it won't take a long time to get, either. What is it? The trick is trying to settle upon a form that does justice to such an enormous concept. Having already tackled the story of War - from the legend of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - in <a href="/psn/games/detail/item247284/Darksiders/" target="_self">Darksiders</a> on PS3, Vigil Games is set to tell an even more ambitious tale: that of Death himself.</p> <p>One of the men charged with the delicious irony of bringing Death to life in <a href="http://www.darksiders.com/" target="_blank">Darksiders II</a> is Vigil Games' art director, Han Randhawa. "Death was the character we considered for the original Darksiders, actually," he tells PlayStation.com. "He was always the coolest of the Four Horsemen, but there was something about him that our key audience may not have connected with immediately."</p> <p>There's no danger of that now. After battling through the premature Armageddon in the original game as War, it's time to saddle up as the force no living being can escape. Death arrives on PS3 to save Creation - here's how he'll do it.</p> <p><b>Deathly serious</b></p> <p><img src="/media/bMMTZ6Kr/CMS-161/7097DarksidersII_Online_Wanderer.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p>War as a warrior was "like a juggernaut". Death, on the other hand, is far nimbler, Randhawa explains. "The thing we didn't want to do was cover him in masses of armour, like we did with War," he says. "Death has to be relatively uncovered to enable him to be more acrobatic. As you get further into the game, you pick up loot and develop your armour, and you'll find Death slowly starts to evolve."</p> <p>Death will be clad in Slayer, Wanderer and Necromancer armour sets - and all will strictly be fit for his grim mission. "In other games, your character could start to look a little like a jester after hours of play." Death is clearly no laughing matter in Darksiders II.</p> <p><b>Don't fear the Reaper</b></p> <p><img src="/media/77NW7j6Z/CMS-161/7090DarksidersII_Online_Dive.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p>Hooded, eerily calm and unfailingly efficient, the Reaper is the spectre everybody and everything fears. In Darksiders II, it's an elaborate, clinical finishing move unlocked after clearing hordes of enemies using your scythe, claws and hammer. "String together a large enough combo and his terrifying true form is revealed," Randhawa reveals with a grin. Then he gets to the punchline.</p> <p>"To begin with, the Reaper form is a kind of teaser, a cherry on top of the cake. After you explore the game, level up and develop Death's wrath, you will eventually get to play in his full-blown Reaper form."</p> <p><b>Apocalypse on a new scale<br /></b></p> <p><img src="/media/vb_X6Asl/CMS-161/7089DarksidersII_Online_Boss Rush.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p>Fittingly for such a colossal figure, the world Death crusades through is immense. As well as his quest to avert Judgement Day, there are several side missions which allow you to refine Death's skills and uncover powerful new tools. All of these take place in a vast, sprawling world of fiery lakes, crumbling grandeur and, surprisingly, lush green oases.</p> <p>"We need an element of free roaming, and you can't have that in an enclosed space," says Randhawa. "We have enormous dungeons and branching areas. Taking a modular approach to design has really opened the game up and allowed us to build much, much bigger environments. The fantastic thing is you're going to see a lot of variation: from angelic citadels to demonic pits."</p> <p>Armageddon may well be the stuff of nightmares, yet in Darksiders II, your mission to undo it looks certain to be a thrill ride you won't want to wake up from. The game is set to launch on PS3 in 2012. If you try to fly solo, you will fail. Teamwork, especially in the beta trial, is paramount to coming out on top, so be sure to find yourself a good squad.</p> <p><b>For the love of God - RUN</b><br />Press the R2 button on your wireless controller to run. Do it all the time. Never, ever, walk around on the map in the Starhawk beta. Run, run and run. Otherwise you are a sitting duck. You have been warned.</p> <p><img src="/media/QXGfiR0K/CMS-161/Starhawk2.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p><b>Radio days </b><br />In Starhawk it's absolutely imperative that you use your Wireless Stereo Headset as a means of communication with your teammates. Trust us, you'll last a whole lot longer. Be sure to encourage your friends to use their headsets too so you can all work together for the best kind of Starhawk experience.</p> <p><b>Enemy mine </b><br />The mines in Starhawk are magnetic, which means you can attach them to your Hawk or Razorback vehicles. Once they are attached, and if you can get close enough to an enemy Hawk or Razorback, the mine will automatically stick to your opponent.</p> <p><img src="/media/Ypd_YBEI/CMS-161/E3_Starhawk_SS_09.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p><b>Wall spam, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing</b><br />If you place a lot of walls on a map using the Build and Battle system, they have a tendency to suck up a lot of space. Be sure to place walls on a map intelligently by looking for potential bottlenecks. It's very tempting to build walls as they are relatively cheap to construct in the game, but stand firm and avoid spamming the battlefield with unwanted clutter.</p> <p><b>Tear it down </b><br />You can sell and remove most buildings on the map by using the yellow control panel found on each structure.
