Game sharing is the ability to share a part of the game as in a track or area on another PSP as a demo. This will show the user receiving part of the game what it looks and feels like. This can be done without a UMD game disc in the receiving PSP, as the data will temporarily be stored on the RAM of the PSP.
- To Game Share you will firstly need to have a PSP UMD title that allows for the game sharing such as Wipeout Pure or Fired Up.
- Once the game disc has been inserted into one of the PSPs the two users will need to go to the settings option on the Cross Media Bar, then go to the bottom to find the Network settings.
- This is where the WLAN switch on the PSP will need to be switched to the on position on both PSPs.
- Once found the Network Settings option will allow for an Ad Hoc selection. The users will both need to select this.
- Once the Ad Hoc selection has been made the users will see a few options on the screens. These are the channels the PSP consoles will work off to transfer this data. The optimal selection would be automatic. Select "X" then to save this file.
- Again move along the Cross Media Bar to the games option. In here the first PSP with the game disc will select to go into the game of choice. I.e. Wipeout Pure. The first PSP once in the game will allow the user to move along the ingame options to find teasers or Game Share.
- The first PSP will then select the option to game share whilst the second PSP will still be on the Cross Media Bar. The first PSP with the game disc will shortly advise the user that they are searching for a request from another player, this is where the second PSP would select the game share option below the game option on the Cross Media Bar.
- The second PSP without the game disc will display the name of the PSP sending the file and also the game demos name i.e. Wipeout Pure. The second PSP will select the file and the first PSP will confirm to send the game. They will select yes or no. NOTE: Game sharing is only available to 2 PSPs only. Game sharing is not version specific.
- Once the yes icon has been selected the 2 PSP consoles will show the file percentage being transferred. When complete on 100% the second PSP has the temporary file until the PSP is turned off.
